IC Remodel Recessed Lighting
Twice Bright Lighting offers the only solution for small aperture remodel IC recessed lighting. We have multiple solutions depending on your situation. Please see some general information below that will guide you through our product offering.
Is there a height restriction in your application? If you have less than 3 ½ of space to work with you must use our low voltage downlighting. If you have over 3 ½ of space you can use either our low voltage or line voltage fixtures.
Low Voltage 12V IC Recessed Lighting
- Maximum 20W GU5.3 based aluminum reflector halogen lamp.
- Shallowest recessed lighting in the marketplace. Fixtures are 2 ½.
- Can be used as primary lighting in most applications.
- Low voltage halogen bulbs produce a whiter, brighter light than line voltage halogen bulbs. You will get 33% more light out of a low voltage halogen bulb than you would out of an equivalent wattage line voltage halogen bulb.
- We recommend using Philips Energy Advantage IR Halogen MR16 with aluminum coating. The lamps put out the equivalent light of a low voltage 35W MR16 or of a line voltage 50W MR16.
- Has 35° tilt on tilting models for cathedral and sloped ceilings.
- Has an integral electronic transformer. You run 120V right to the fixtures.
- Use a dimmer designed for use with an electronic transformer.
- You may use halogen or LED bulbs. LED bulbs must be specified as dimmable if you want them to work on a dimmer switch.
Line Voltage 120V IC Recessed Lighting
- Maximum 25W GU10 based aluminum reflector halogen lamp.
- Shallowest recessed lighting in the market place. Fixtures range from 3 ½ – 4 ¼.
- Can be used for secondary lighting, accent lighting and lighting of areas such as hallways and coves.
- Light from these fixtures is dimmer and warmer than the low voltage halogen bulbs.
- To get more light and a whiter light out of these fixtures you can use bulbs from our selection of LED bulbs. Please look at the GU10 based bulbs.
- Has 20° tilt on tilting models for cathedral and sloped ceilings.
- Our SL12025TL/F fixtures can be used when 2x4 joists have been used.
- Can be used with all regular line voltage dimmers.
- You may use halogen or LED bulbs. LED bulbs must be specified as dimmable if you want them to work on a dimmer switch.
- We have a low energy compact fluorescent IC fixture. It is non-dimmable.
